Philosophy

Our ever-changing world requires our educational system to support and nurture our children, celebrate their uniqueness, and set them up for success. This is especially true following the tumultuous few years our young people have conquered.

At TCA, students are challenged to use their own creative approaches to learning as we use the arts as a tool to promote independence, confidence, and self-expression.

Environmental education is embedded in all subjects and one day each week is devoted to learning outside. Toronto, known as “a city within a park,” offers a tremendous venue for learning about the natural world around us and can be relevant to all subjects.

Social justice is a fundamental part of our entire curriculum, and includes the stories of traditionally under-represented communities, including 2SLGBTQ+, IBPoC and women. Not only does this enter the classroom, but we ask our students to become active members of the community and take action in areas they feel passionate about.
